Medical laboratories: evidence categories

These services include medical laboratories that:

• only process and analyse samples
• have no interface with or see people that use the service (for example, the lab does not remove samples from a person, or contact patients to provide results or advice)

We know there are differences in how services operate. We'll reflect this when we look at individual sources of evidence in our assessments.
