Date of Assessment: 26 February 2025 to 5 March 2025. The service is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care to adults of all ages living with physical disabilities, sensory impairments, dementia and mental health conditions. This assessment was in response to CQC receiving information of concern.
This is the first assessment for this newly registered service.
People received safe care. Individual risks were based on people’s assessed needs and were regularly updated and reviewed. Safeguarding procedures were in place, and medicines were managed in a safe way. There were enough suitably recruited and trained staff available for people and they were happy with the care they received.
The principles of The Mental Capacity Act were followed. People received care that was responsive to their needs, it was person centred and planned for with people. Staff had received training and there were procedures in place that considered areas including people’s environments, infection control and ensuring people could access health professionals.
The systems in place were effective in identifying areas of improvement and making changes when needed. Staff felt involved, supported, and listened to.
