Our view of the service

Alexandra Private Hospital is an independent hospital in Chesterfield, Derbyshire which predominately offers cosmetic surgery to self-funding patients. The hospital has two theatres, two recovery areas and access to over twenty one beds. We carried out an unannounced on-site assessment of the service on 9 September 2024 and returned to the service unannounced on 30 September 2024 to follow up on concerns that we had following our initial assessment. Following the Care Quality Commission (CQC) Single Assessment Framework (SAF) we assessed all key questions safe, effective, responsive and well-led. We found breaches of regulation 12 safe care and treatment and regulation 17 good governance. The overall rating for the service has improved with the service now being rated requires improvement. This service is not always safe or well-led. The service was rated good in caring and responsive. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.
