Our current view of the service

Good

The assessment took place on 30 July 2024. The assessment was planned in response to concerns raised about the management of risk at the service. We did not identify any breaches of regulation and the service remains rated Good. People were safe at the service and staff knew how to protect people from abuse. People were supported to have choices and control in their lives in as safe a way as possible. Staff knew about the risks people faced and how best to support them. Staff had been trained and safely recruited. People’s needs were holistically assessed. Staff were kind and caring and supported people to be as independent as possible. People’s care and support was person centred and people’s equality needs were met. Staff and the management ensured people were able to live how they wanted to live. We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.

People's experience of the service

People told us they were happy living at the service. One person said, “I've lived here for [a number of] years, and I am very happy” another person used nonverbal communication to tell us were happy with the support they received. Interactions between staff and people were positive and staff treated people with kindness and respect. One person said, “It’s just lovely being here, the people and residents and everybody”. People told us they felt safe. One person said, “I feel more secure here, I feel safer here”. Relatives were also positive about the service and felt informed when they needed to be. One relative said, “Staff always call me if anything changes for [name], if [they are] not feeling well… they tell me exactly what’s going on, they are very on the ball.”
