Updated 7 June 2024
Date of assessment 25 September 2024 to 5 December 2024. The assessment was a planned assessment to check whether the warning notices issued following our last inspection had been met and embedded. The service is a learning disability service providing support to adults with learning disabilities, people with mental health needs, physical disabilities sensory impairment, older people and autism. We assessed the service against ‘Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. A new registered manager was in place and now had good oversight of the service. They confirmed they had been supported by the leadership team to make improvements to the service. We found improvements had been made to risks in the environment and keeping the people who used the service safe and healthy. This service has been in Special Measures since 14 June 2023. The provider demonstrated improvements that have been made. The service is no longer rated as inadequate overall or in any of the key questions. Therefore, this service is no longer in Special Measures. However, we found one continued breach of the legal regulations in relation to governance due to concerns found in the updating of care plan documents, medicines risk assessments and medicines procedures. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.
