During a routine inspection
A relative told us that consent is always sought prior to treatment or an event which requires it. He is assured that he is aware that the staff do understand the reason for consent and undertake reviews as is necessary.
We saw evidence that advocacy services are used as necessary. Staff explained that the consent to care and treatment is part of the daily routine and one individual demonstrated that the staff always ask him what he wants to do.
Two people showed us their care files and person centred plan. They were aware of what was included in the plan and showed us their easy read version with pictures and diagrams. The staff told us that each individual is involved in the multidisciplinary care review and we saw evidence of this.
