During an assessment under our new approach
At this assessment we found people were very happy with the service and reported staff were good at their jobs. Staff were passionate about providing good care outcomes and took ownership of their practice. People found staff treated them with dignity and kindness. Staff felt the registered manager empowered them to be compassionate, give people all the time they needed and treat each person as an individual. They understood people's needs and how to manage any presenting risks. Staff sought people’s views about how to support them and, when appropriate, relative were included them in discussions about the support being offered. Recruitment practices were meeting requirements. There were enough staff to deliver the care package and systems were in place to ensure new care packages could be supported with adequate numbers of staff. Care packages were only accepted when the registered manager and staff were confident the person’s needs could be met. The management team had created a robust governance system, which rapidly identified the smallest of issue.
