Caring
Caring – this means we looked for evidence that the provider involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect. At our last assessment we rated this key question Good. At this assessment the rating has remained Good. This meant people were supported and treated with dignity and respect; and involved as partners in their care. People were able to spend time with others that were important to them, and staff supported people to facilitate and maintain relationships.

Independence, choice and control
People were able to spend time with others that were important to them, and staff supported people to facilitate and maintain relationships. Staff supported people regularly to see their relatives within their home or going out to visit them. Staff were able to tell us how they supported people to be as independent as possible, this included hand over hand support when eating for one person. People’s relatives told us their loved ones were supported to keep in contact with them as and when the person wanted. People were supported by staff to make and maintain friendships. For example, people were supported to visit near by homes, run by the same provider, to enjoy social events such as parties on a regular basis.
