During a routine inspection
We saw that people using the service, their relatives and others acting on their behalf were provided with opportunities to be involved in making decisions about their care and support. Care and treatment was planned and delivered according to the needs and wishes of people using the service. Risks to people's health, safety and welfare were assessed and managed.
People using the service told us that they enjoyed the food provided ad that they were involved in choosing menus. There were suitable arrangements for reducing risks of inadequate nutrition and hydration.
The premises were clean and free from unpleasant odours. There were effective arrangements for minimising the risks of infections and maintaining a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the service.
Risks associated with medicines were well managed. People received medicines as prescribed for them as part of their care and treatment. Medicines were stored appropriately and safely.
People told us that they were well cared for and supported by staff. There were arrangements for reviewing staffing levels to ensure that there were sufficient numbers of skilled and knowledgeable staff to support people who were using the service.
Complaints were received, investigated and responded to appropriately as part of improving the service.
