During an assessment under our new approach
The provider was able to demonstrate good levels of knowledge and processes regarding safeguarding procedures. The provider ensured that people with different communication needs had those needs met, and provided accessible information to ensure people were kept informed. People and where appropriate, relatives, told us they took part in care planning and reviews.
Staff were well trained and knew how to manage risks associated with people they supported. Staff were recruited safely and received the ongoing support needed from management to work safely and effectively. Although care plans were person centred, not all risk plans were thorough. However, care plans covered information that was not available in risk management plans.
The provider was able to demonstrate how they mitigated against the risk of discrimination within the service for both service users and staff.
