Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 4 March 2025. The service is a residential home providing personal care and accommodation for up to 6 autistic people, people with a learning disability and mental health support needs. At the time of our assessment there were 6 people using the service.

The provider was previously in breach of the legal regulation, good governance. Improvements were found at this assessment and the provider was no longer in breach of this regulation. Governance systems had been reviewed to ensure the quality and safety of the service was regularly assessed. The service delivered person centred care and supported people to access the community and activities. People had regular meetings with their keyworkers. A keyworker is a dedicated staff member assigned to support the person. The service communicated internally and with people’s families. The service looked to continually improve and enhance people’s quality of life. Changes in management had impacted the staff team and culture. A new manager was now in post. Staff had not always received regular supervision, which was being addressed.

We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. We found people received care and support in accordance with the principles of this guidance.
