During an inspection in response to concerns
People that we spoke with told us that the staff treated them with respect. Throughout our visit we saw people being given choices about various aspects of their daily life and care such as where they wanted to sit and whether they wanted to join in an activity. We saw staff assisting people to move using hoists and wheelchairs. Staff spoke to people with respect and explained what they were going to do before they carried out care.
People praised the staff, saying they were, 'Caring and patient'. Several people described the staff as 'lovely'. The family member of one person told us, 'I'm a cynic, but the staff have been great. I can't speak highly enough of them. The staff here are brilliant.' Visitors told us that they were made welcome by staff. One person living at the home told us that this had been particularly important to them.
Most people told us that they and their family were involved in the writing and reviewing of their care plan.
People receiving a service and their families told us that they were able to speak with the manager and were confident that any concerns would be addressed.
