The service promoted people’s independence, so people had choice and control over their own care, treatment and wellbeing.

People were supported by staff to maintain their independence. Staff knew people well and were able to communicate with them effectively to enable them to make choices. One member of staff said, "We encourage people to do what they can for themselves, give them encouragement. Everyone makes their own choices, [name of person] is offered 2 or 3 items and will point at what they want."

People were supported to engage in activities in their community which promoted and supported their independence, health and wellbeing. One relative told us, “They [staff] did a fantastic job with [name of person], exercise, activities, trampolining, [name of person] has a much better quality of life.”
