Date of assessment: 25, 30 and 31 October 2024. Helping Hands Northallerton is a domiciliary care agency. It provides personal care to people living in their own homes. At the time of the inspection there were 11 people receiving a regulated activity from the service. This is the first inspection for this service. People received care which was safe and appropriate to their needs. Detailed risk assessments were in place covering every aspect of people’s environment, health and care needs. Medicines were administered and managed safely. Appropriate infection prevention and control measures were in place. People received person-centred care in line with their assessed needs. People were supported to access and attend health appointments. People received kind, compassionate care from staff who were suitably trained. People had consented to their care and support. The service and staff were responsive to people’s needs. People’s support was altered to accommodate any changes in their circumstances or support needs. The service was well-managed with appropriate governance systems in place. Immediate action was taken to learn from any incidents or identified concerns. These were shared to prevent recurrence. People, relatives and staff knew the registered manager well and felt comfortable contacting and speaking with them.
