Date of assessment 27 February to 10 March 2025

Choice Care 4U Services Ltd is a domiciliary care service providing support to people living in their own homes. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of our assessment 27 people were receiving the regulated activity of personal care. The service supported people living with dementia, health conditions and general frailty. Some people supported had a learning disability. The provider was working in line with national best practice guidance for people with a learning disability and autistic people.

The assessment was undertaken to assess improvements since the last inspection (published 19 April 2022). At this assessment improvements had been made. Risks to people were now managed safely and care plans guided safe practices. The provider now had oversight of effective quality monitoring and governance processes. Person centred practices were now embedded within the culture of the service. Learning was used to improve service delivery.

We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence, and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.

People's experience of the service

Updated 20 February 2025

Person centred care planning ensured people received consistent and safe support. Risks to people were managed. People had choice and control over their lives and were involved in planning and reviewing their care. Feedback from people was acted upon and used to improve their care experiences. People were happy with the care they received and felt safe with the staff who were supporting them. People told us they received a reliable service and there were enough staff to safely meet their needs. Health and social care professionals provided positive feedback about outcomes for people. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice.
