During an assessment under our new approach

We had undertaken a comprehensive inspection of Deansgate Dental Studio on 16 July 2024, under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008. We found the registered provider was not providing safe care and was in breach of regulation 19 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. We undertook a follow up, off-site assessment on 3 October 2024. This assessment was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to confirm that the practice was now meeting legal requirements. We found the practice had met regulations. The practice had systems to manage risks. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. However, the practice should take further action to ensure clinical staff have evidence of protection against Hepatitis B. The practice is in Manchester City Centre and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. At the time of our assessment, the dental team included 5 dentists, 1 qualified dental nurse, 2 trainee dental nurses, and 1 practice manager. The practice had 4 treatment rooms.
