Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 27 November to 16 December 2024.
We assessed 32 quality statements.
We found breaches of regulation regarding good governance.
Overall, we found areas of good practice. Incidents were investigated and improvements made to the service. People were safeguarded from abuse and improper treatment. Vehicles and equipment were well maintained and safe. People’s needs were assessed and staff were focused on providing person-centred care. Staff worked with partners to support people using the service. There was an open culture where staff had confidence in leaders and felt able to raise concerns.
However, recruitment checks were not fully recorded. Patient records were not always complete. Cleaning equipment was not always stored correctly to prevent the spread of infection. Substances hazardous to health were not always stored in line with guidelines.
We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.
People's experience of this service
During the assessment we were unable to observe patient care or speak directly with people who used the service. Therefore, we were unable to directly capture the experiences of people who received care. However, we spoke with commissioners of the service who provided their experiences. Partners were positive about the service provided. They told us staff were skilled and took their time with people using the service.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) have not received any feedback about the service.
