During an assessment under our new approach
Kitec Healthcare Services is a domiciliary care agency and provides personal care to people living in their own homes, including those living with mental health needs. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive the regulated activity of personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of this inspection 5 people were receiving support with personal care.
People experienced very positive outcomes because staff fully understood their needs and worked collaboratively with other organisations to ensure people received excellent care provision. There were robust and effective processes in place to ensure there was equality and inclusion across the workforce. We found strong leadership which put people first and staff were proud to work for the service and felt valued for their work. The provider was committed to continually motivating the staff team and recognising their dedication to their role.
People were respected and valued as individuals and were empowered to be fully involved in their care. Staff were caring and there was a strong culture within the service of treating people with dignity and respect. Staff supported people to make healthy choices and supported them to access healthcare services when required. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice.
