Our view of the service
We carried out this focused, announced on-site assessment on 17 March 2025. During this assessment, we only looked at the well led key question.
We found the practice had met regulations.
Systems and processes were embedded.
Governance systems were in place, and most were accessible to staff.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
The practice mostly had effective systems and processes for identifying and managing risks. However, they should ensure recommendations from risk assessments are always acted on.
Practice staff carried out an audit programme, but these were not always undertaken in line with recommended frequency.
Yorkshire Dental Suite York is part of the group Yorkshire Dental Suite, a dental provider which provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice via a portable ramp and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 3 treatment rooms. At the time of our assessment, there was a total 14 staff members. There were 5 dentists which included 1 sedationist, 1 dental therapist, 3 dental nurses, 1 treatment co ordinator, 2 receptionists, 1 compliance manager and a practice manager.
We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our assessment, including the practice manager, the compliance manager, the treatment coordinator and a trainee dental nurse.
