Gosforth Private Clinic is part of J M A Healthcare Limited. The service provides a limited range of procedures, namely echocardiograms and ultrasound baby scans. The service is registered to carry out the following regulated activities: diagnostic and screening procedures; treatment of disease, disorder or injury.
At the time of our assessment a registered manager was not in post.
The service was previously inspected in September 2021 and was rated inadequate in safe, effective, responsive and well led. This assessment rated the service as requires improvement.
Following the on-site assessment, we issued a letter of intent to the provider that urgent enforcement may be taken because we found that systems in place to ensure the safe care and treatment were not effective, which exposed patients to the risk of harm.
These concerns were about admission criteria and escalation of deteriorating patients, premises, and governance. The provider responded to these and assured us initial concerns had been addressed or were in the process of being addressed.
