Kindness, compassion and dignity

Regulations met

Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion. One patient told us, “The surgery's outstanding feature is the staff, they are more like friends, they know our family and remember to ask about them. They showed great concern when we had a family member die and we received a card of condolence, a very nice thought, that I will always remember”.

Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate. We were told, “I have been with the practice for nearly 40 years and in this time, I have always found (dentist) and his team thoroughly professional and polite” and “I have been a patient at this practice since 1984 and have experienced such great care and consideration at every visit”.

Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected.

We observed positive interactions between staff and patients. Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion, and displayed an understanding of patients’ needs and showed warmth and compassion.

We were provided with patient surveys for January and February 2025. The results of these were positive. Comments included, “would not go anywhere else” and “I have been a patient at this practice for over 30 years and would not consider a move to any other”. The practice also received a large amount of thank you cards from patients, some of which were on display and older cards kept for reference.

People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality.

Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles, and their wellbeing was supported. Leaders and staff described how the wellbeing of staff was supported. We were told that the practice owners were caring, kind, approachable and helpful.
