Our view of the service
We carried out this announced on-site assessment on 29 January 2025. We found the practice had met regulations. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and infection control procedures were in place. We identified scope for improvement in the practice systems to manage risks. Specifically, the provider should, take action to appoint a competent person, to carry out any of the preventive and protective measures, taking into account The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. The practice is in Sneinton in Nottingham and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. The practice was accessed via a set of steps so it is not easily accessible to people using wheelchairs or those with pushchairs. A set of portable ramps were available and the provider had processes to refer new and existing patients who could not access the service to accessible services nearby. The practice had 1 treatment room. During the assessment we spoke with the dentist and 3 dental nurses who also shared reception duties.
