Our view of the service

We carried out this announced on-site assessment on 4 February 2025.

We found the practice had not met all regulations.

Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required.

Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and infection control procedures were generally in place.

Recruitment procedures did not always reflect current legislation.

We saw ineffective leadership without a culture of continuous improvement.

The practice did not have effective systems in place to manage all risks.

Antwerp House Dental Practice is part of Antwerp Dental Group, a dental group provider. The practice is in Cambridge and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces were available near the practice.

The practice had 9 treatment rooms. At the time of the inspection, the dental team consisted of 5 dentists, 4 foundation dentists, 3 hygienists, 1 dental therapist, 2 orthodontic therapists, 1 periodontologist, 1 orthodontist, 8 dental nurses, 5 trainee dental nurses, 4 receptionists, 1 treatment co-ordinator, 3 administrative staff and 2 practice managers.

People's experience of this service

On the day of our assessment, we saw patient feedback from 5 patients. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.

Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.

They told us they were able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and that they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed.

The practice gathered online feedback from patients.
