Our current view of the service

Good

Updated 19 February 2025

This assessment took place between 18 Mar and 27 Mar 2025. This service is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care to people living in their own homes. At the time of our assessment there were 77 people using the service. We assessed the service against ‘right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.

People were protected from risk of abuse. Risks to people were assessed and managed well. Staff received relevant training to meet people’s needs. Recruitment practice was safe. Infection risks were managed well. People were involved in assessments of their needs and received care centred on them and their individual needs, including those related to their protected equality characteristics. People’s care was regularly reviewed to ensure this remained effective. People were supported to stay healthy and well and received their medicines when needed. Staff made sure people understood their care, to give informed consent. People were supported to have choice and control and maintain their independence. People were given information which met their needs. People were treated equally, fairly, and supported to access care and support that met their needs. Staff understood people’s rights and how these should be met. The service was led by experienced managers. Staff were valued and supported with their learning, development and wellbeing. People and staff were encouraged to raise concerns and these were listened to. There was a culture of learning, improvement, inclusivity and partnership working, focused on supporting people to achieve positive outcomes. The provider had recently responded proactively to people’s concerns and improved timings of care calls and continuity of care for people with more regular staff supporting them.

People's experience of the service

Updated 19 February 2025

People were, on the whole, satisfied with the care and support they received from staff. This was because the provider had made recent improvements to the timeliness of scheduled care calls. People were also now experiencing better continuity of care because they were supported by more regular staff. People said staff treated them well and helped keep them safe. People told us staff sought prompt support for them when they became unwell. People felt staff were trained and understood their needs and how these should be met. People were encouraged to give feedback and were confident raising concerns. People told us managers responded positively when they did, making improvements where needed. One person told us, “I would say that management is trying very hard to put things right.”
