During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this announced on-site assessment on 4 February 2025. We found the practice had met regulations. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance, and infection control procedures were in place. The practice had systems to manage risks. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Dental Solutions Gosforth is in Newcastle upon Tyne and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. There was step-free access to the practice, and car parking spaces were available near the practice. Patients could call the practice beforehand to see if there were parking spaces available at the rear of the practice. The practice had 4 treatment rooms. The total number of staff was 9. During the assessment we spoke with 2 dentists, 2 dental nurses, 1 receptionist and the practice manager.

During a routine inspection

We saw that all treatment was explained to people who used the service and consent was gained prior to the commencement of all treatment. We saw that care was planned and delivered effectively and that people were safe from harm.

We saw that staff were allowed to develop professionally and were suitably qualified and experienced for the role. We saw that the provider monitored quality assurance effectively.

People were very positive in their views about the practice. Comments included; "Very efficient and friendly" and "Best service I've had anywhere and anytime".
