During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this announced on-site assessment on 10 March 2025.

We found the practice had met regulations.

Infection control procedures in place were effective.

The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks.

Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance.

Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required.

The practice is in Birmingham and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.

The practice had 2 treatment rooms. At the time of our assessment, there was a total of 7 staff, of which there were 2 dentists, 2 qualified dental nurses, 1 trainee dental nurse, 1 receptionist and a practice manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our assessment, including 1 dentist, 1 qualified dental nurse, the receptionist and the practice manager.

During a routine inspection

During this inspection we conducted telephone interviews with people who used the service. We spoke with one dentist, a dental nurse and two managers.

We found that people had the information they needed to help them make informed choices about their treatment. People that used the service told us that their treatment was discussed with them.

People told us that they had no concerns about the care and treatment that they received from the dentists at this practice. One person told us, "They are so caring and helpful and they put you at ease.' We found that people experienced care, treatment and support that met their needs and protected their rights.

People we spoke with had no concerns about the cleanliness of the environment. We found that people received care and treatment in a clean and hygienic environment.

People told us that the staff were kind and friendly. We found that staff were trained and supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard.

People that we spoke with told us that they were happy with the standard of treatment they received. We found that the provider had an effective system in place to monitor the service to ensure that people received a quality service.
