Good

Updated 26 March 2025

Chalgrove Care and Nursing Home is registered to provide personal care and nursing care to up to 60 people. At the time of our inspection, the service was supporting 54 people, including people with a learning disability and people living with dementia.

The inspection took place between 28 March 2025 and 7 April 2025. We visited the service on 31 March 2025. During this inspection we inspected all quality statements under the key questions of safe and well-led to check the provider had followed their action plan to make improvements.

We found the service had made improvements and the provider was no longer in breach of regulations. The rating has changed from requires improvement (published 23 September 2022) to good.

Improvements to the service’s governance and auditing systems enabled the registered manager to have clear oversight of risk and learn from adverse events. All staff spoke of the management team’s commitment to make continuous improvements. A staff member told us, “I have seen the home come on leaps and bounds in my last few years and look forward to seeing it progress on further.” Another staff member stated, “Everything has improved since you were last here. All aspects of care have gone up, we are a strong team, we know residents and treat them like they are our family.”

We observed care was delivered in ways that were person-centred and promoted people’s dignity, privacy and human rights. Care staff treated people with kindness and respect. Staff told us they were valued and supported in their roles, informing us the positive impact this had in enabling them to provide care for people using the service.
