Date of assessment: 28 October 2024 to 6 December 2024. Rosewood Care Home is a residential care home for older people and those who may be living with dementia. The service has improved and is compliant with regulations in relation to the safety of the premises and governance. We assessed all quality statements in the safe and well led key questions and found the service had made improvements and was no longer in breach of regulations. We assessed workforce wellbeing and enablement and care provision, integrations and continuity. The overall rating had also changed from requires improvement to good. The provider had assessed the safety of the premises, including the risk of legionella and plans were in place to mitigate risks to people. Staff assessed risks to people's health and safety. People had care plans to guide safe practice and staff understood how to keep people safe. There were enough staff to ensure people’s safety and meet their needs. Effective infection prevention control measures were in place and the service was clean and well maintained. People received their medicine safely as prescribed from staff who were properly trained. Staff were knowledgeable about safeguarding and any concerns were investigated and referred to the relevant external organisations. The provider had effective governance systems in place and the culture of the service was person centred, respectful and transparent. Staff and relatives told us the service had good leadership who were open to improvement. Care was delivered in a person centred manner and relatives told us they were pleased with the support staff provided. The provider worked effectively with other organisations to ensure continuity of care. People’s choices and wishes were respected and documented.
