We undertook a follow-up on-site assessment on 7 March 2025. This was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to assess whether the practice was meeting legal requirements.
We had previously undertaken an announced on-site assessment of The Dental Practice on 10 October 2024. We had found the registered provider was not providing safe and well-led care and was in breach of regulations; 12 (Safe care and treatment) and 17 (good governance) of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
During our follow-up assessment, we found the practice had met regulations.
The practice systems to manage risks had improved.
Recruitment checks were now in line with current legislation.
Infection prevention and control audits needed improvement to ensure risks were addressed in a timely manner.
Improvements were made to the management of fire safety.
The Dental Practice is in Camberwell and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. There was step free access to the practice and car parking spaces, including dedicated parking for disabled people, were available near the practice. The practice had 3 treatment rooms, one of which was used for storage. At the time of our assessment, there was a total of 5 staff, of which there were 2 dentists, 1 registered dental nurse, 1 trainee dental nurse and 1 receptionist. The dentists worked at another location. During the assessment we spoke with 1 dentist, 1 dental nurse and the receptionist.
