Governance, management and sustainability
At the assessment on 7 March 2025 we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation.
We reviewed policies and found improvements had been made.
Improvements had been made to the management of staff files to ensure they were maintained in accordance with Schedule 3 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. However, we noted that a clinical staff member had only received a basic check instead of the stipulated enhanced with the Disclosure and Barring Service. We raised this with the provider who showed us evidence that they had made attempts to resolve, however due to a change in personal details this was taking longer than normal.
We saw that the provider had now introduced a staff training matrix to track and manage progress.
At the previous inspection, we found that relevant signage was not displayed for the closed-circuit television cameras. At this inspection, we noted that the signage was no longer displayed as they were in the process of removing them.
Improvements had been made to ensure paper records were stored, retained and disposed of securely to comply with General Data Protection Regulations.
Infection prevention and control audits required improvements to ensure issues identified were supported with effective action plans. The most recent audit completed in February 2025 did not clearly define the issues and appropriate actions to be taken. There were no documented anticipated delivery timeframes to address the disjointed surfaces in surgery 3 and sink overflows in all surgeries. This was highlighted to the provider who explained that design changes were in their medium to long term plans.
Local anaesthetics syringes were now being stored in their original packaging.
