Winton Lodge is a care home providing personal care for up to 9 people with a learning disability and/or autistic people. There were 9 people living at the service during this assessment. The assessment was carried out between 13 and 20 November 2024. This was a comprehensive assessment, and we included all quality statements under each of our 5 key questions. We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. People were supported in a person-centred way and encouraged to join various activities within and outside of the service. Staff were kind and caring, taking into consideration people’s individuality. Sufficient levels of staff were employed to ensure people were safe. Staff knew people well and had a comprehensive understanding of people’s needs. Safeguarding procedures were in place to help protect people from abuse. Governance systems were in place to ensure oversight of the service.
