Updated 27 January 2025
Date of assessment 29 January 2025 to 26 February 2025. Oakley Lodge Care Home (57) is a specialist service that is used by autistic people or people with a learning disability. There were 3 people living at the service at the time of our assessment. We assessed the service against 'Right support, right care, right culture' guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
We identified some concerns in relation to ensuring care plans were up to date and the environment. The provider acted promptly and addressed our concerns at the time of the assessment.
The provider reviewed and learnt from incidents and adverse events. Medicines were managed safely, and the provider was committed to reducing the use of anti-psychotic and over prescribed medicines which had led to positive outcomes for people. Staff were recruited safely, received appropriate training for their roles and told us they felt well supported. People’s health and wellbeing was promoted and staff actively engaged with people to maintain good health. Feedback was welcomed and encouraged, with changes made based on this feedback. People lived their lives the way they chose to and had regular opportunities to participate in activities and spend time in the local community.
