Date of assessment 25 July to 28 August 2024. Hinds Care and Support Service is a domiciliary care service, providing care to people living in their own home. At the time of our assessment the agency was supporting 4 people. We assessed quality statements from the safe, responsive, well-led and caring key questions. Our overall rating for the service is requires improvement. We found 3 breaches of the legal regulations in relation to safe care, effective staffing and governance. Risks of harm to people’s health and wellbeing were not always mitigated as much as possible. Staff training was not consistent which meant staff may not have the necessary skills to carry out their role effectively. Care and risk plan lacked information in them for staff to follow. We spoke with 3 care staff, the registered manager and 2 relatives. We reviewed a range of documents including staff files, accidents/incidents, complaints and policies, training and care records. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.
