Our view of the service
We carried out this announced on-site assessment on 6 November 2024. We found the practice had not met all regulations. Improvements were required to the system for ensuring all staff are up to date with role specific training. The practice had systems to manage risks. However, these were not always effective. Improvements were required to the system for managing the risks associated with fire and hazardous substances. Improvements were required to the system to review and investigate incidents and accidents. However, recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and infection control procedures were in place. Parish Dental Practice is in Leeds and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. There was step free access to the practice and car parking spaces were available near the practice. The practice had 5 treatment rooms. At the time of assessment the practice had 14 members of staff. During the assessment we spoke with 2 dentists, 3 dental nurses and the practice manager. The provider was not complying with 1 regulation. Full details of the regulation the provider was not meeting are within the body of the report. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.
