Date of assessment: 20 March to 24 March 2025. The inspection was prompted in part by a notification of a safety incident when a person sustained an injury whilst they were assisted to transfer with the use of moving and handling equipment. This incident is subject to further investigation by CQC as to whether any regulatory action should be taken. As a result, this inspection did not examine the circumstances of the incident. However, the information shared with CQC about the incident indicated potential concerns about the management of risks when people used moving and handling equipment to help them transfer. This inspection examined those risks. We found 2 breaches of the legal regulations in relation to people’s safe care and treatment and good governance. We found staff had not always provided people with safe care. There were health and safety risks present in the premises and risks from infection were not always effectively controlled and reduced. Systems designed to identify shortfalls and improve care were not effective. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment. In instances where CQC have decided to take civil or criminal enforcement action against a provider, we will publish this information on our website after any representations and/ or appeals have been concluded.
