During a routine inspection

The provider had a patient's consent policy which outlined how consent was sought and obtained. We reviewed people's records and say that where necessary consent was given for treatment. People's needs were assessed by the dentist and an individual treatment plan was drawn up. Staff were trained annually in basic life support and there was emergency equipment and drugs to respond to medical emergencies.

The practice had infection control policies and an appropriate procedure in place for the decontamination of reusable instruments. The procedures were in line with published infection control guidance.

There were enough suitably qualified staff to meet the needs of people. Appropriate arrangements were in place to cover staff absences. Records seen were fit for purpose and kept secure. Records were only accessible to staff.
