During a routine inspection
As the provider had contracted the clinical aspect of its service to another provider we spoke with the clinical manager for this service as well as a member of subcontracted staff.
We spoke with four focus groups where people were able to give us their views about the DARS at the prison. They were positive about the standard of care and treatment they received.
We saw that people's needs were reviewed regularly. We saw that people were treated with respect. They were given information and advice about their drug and alcohol problems and any treatment they received.
The provider worked with other healthcare providers to ensure that people received continuity of care.
We saw that staff were supported to be trained to an appropriate standard.
We looked at records which showed that the provider regularly monitored the quality of its service
