Westley Court Care Home is a residential care home providing personal and nursing care to up to 33 people. At the time of our inspection there were 22 people using the service. The service provides support to people with varying needs, including some people living with dementia. Date of assessment visits: 19 August and 5 September 2024. This assessment was prompted by a review of information we held about this service, and it covered the key questions safe and well led. Although the provider had systems and processes in place, we were not assured they were always used effectively in ensuring the quality and safety of the service in relation to environmental risks. However, we found improvements from our last inspection. People had risk assessments in place for their care and nursing needs and care plans were up to date and reflected people’s current support needs. Whilst improvements had been made, the provider remained in breach of 1 Regulation. People’s individual risks were assessed, and records showed measures in place were being followed by staff. Staff were following advice and guidance given by health care professionals. However, parts of the environment needed repair and updating, some equipment needed replacing and environmental risks were not always managed effectively. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.
