Our current view of the service

Requires improvement

Updated 10 December 2024

Date of Assessment: 11 December 2024 to 17 January 2025. We conducted this assessment due to receiving information of concern and because the practice had not been inspected since 2019. We assessed all quality statements across the safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led key questions.

Watling Medical Practice is a GP practice and delivers service to approximately 7080 patients under a contract held with NHS England. The National General Practice Profiles states that the demographics of the population are mainly white British with approximately 4% other, 1.4 percent of which are Asian. Information published by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 7th decile (7 of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others. This assessment considered the demographics of the people using the service, the context the service was working within and how this impacted service delivery. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report.

People's experience of the service

Updated 10 December 2024

People were positive about the quality of their care and treatment. Recent survey results, including from the National GP Patient Survey and the NHS Friends and Family Test, showed people were satisfied with services. There was no active patient participation group (PPG) to represent the views of people using the service but there were plans to improve this.
