We carried out this announced, on-site assessment on 13 March 2025.
We found the practice had met regulations.
The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Infection control procedures in place were effective.
Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance.
Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required.
Alpha Dental Studio Northallerton is part of Riverdale Tradeco Limited, a dental group provider and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 9 treatment rooms. At the time of our assessment, there was a total of 40 staff, of which there were 12 dentists, 2 sedationists, 2 orthodontists, 12 dental nurses, 2 dental hygienists, 2 dental therapists, 5 receptionists, a treatment coordinator and 2 practice managers.
We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our assessment, including 4 dentists, 2 dental nurses, 1 dental hygienist and the practice manager.
Staff feedback forms were shared with the team ahead of the assessment, giving staff an opportunity to confidentially share their views about the practice. We received 23 responses, which were considered as part of the assessment.
The service provides cosmetic treatments, some of which are not in scope of regulation and are not covered in our assessment.
