We found this practice was providing caring services in accordance with the relevant regulations and had taken into consideration appropriate guidance.

Kindness, compassion and dignity
Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion. Comments included, ‘(the provider) and his team have always been very attentive and thorough and we feel very lucky to be on his list,’ and ‘really pleased with the care and follow up that I received.’ Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate. One person commented, ‘The dentist is very caring and friendly.’ Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected.
Staff were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights. Staff were aware of the importance of privacy and confidentiality. Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles. Leaders described how they supported the wellbeing of staff.
We did not receive any information from partner organisations.
The practice had installed closed-circuit television to improve security for patients and staff. Siting of CCTV cameras was appropriate and relevant signage was displayed. The practice had information governance arrangements and staff were aware of the importance of protecting patients’ personal information. Staff password protected patients’ electronic care records, and paper records were stored securely and complied with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). We saw the general environment helped to protect patients’ privacy and dignity. Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion. We observed multiple positive interactions between staff and patients both in person at the service and on the telephone. Staff displayed an understanding of patients needs and showed warmth and compassion to all patients.
