Our current view of the service
Updated
24 September 2024
We carried out this announced inspection on 14 March 2025.
We found the practice had not met all regulations.
Patients were treated with dignity and respect.
At the time of our inspection, patients could access care, support and treatment when required.
Patients’ consent to care, and treatment was obtained in line with legislation and guidance.
There was a lack of effective leadership, and not all risks associated with undertaking of regulated activities had been suitably identified and mitigated.
The practice is in Salisbury and provides private orthodontic care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking was available near the practice.
The practice had 1 treatment room.
During our inspection we spoke with the orthodontist, a dental nurse, and the receptionist.
The provider was not complying with all regulations.
Full details of the regulation the provider was not meeting are within the inspection findings below.
We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this inspection.
People's experience of the service

Two weeks before our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 3 patients. On the day of our inspection, we obtained feedback from 1 patient.
Patient feedback, both before and during our inspection visit, provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.
Comments included: “very friendly and inviting” and “organised, never left waiting for an appointment,” “fantastic treatment, efficient, friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and experienced” and “the whole process was so much quicker than expected.”
Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.
They told us they were able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and that they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed.
Patients said they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care. One patient told us, “The orthodontist talked through the process of what was happening which was very informative.”
The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
While the people we questioned told us that they were happy with their care, our assessment found there were regulations that were not met.
