Date of Assessment: 18 February 2025 to 20 February 2025. This assessment was carried out in response to previous enforcement action taken by CQC. The service is a nursing home providing support to adults of all ages living with dementia and nursing needs. Since our last assessment, the provider had taken the necessary action needed to make improvements. Medicines were managed safely. Infection control was considered, and the environment was safe. The care people received was delivered in line with their assessed needs and in a person-centred way. The principles of the Mental Capacity Act were followed and implemented. People were treated in a kind and caring way by staff who knew them well. There were systems in place to monitor quality at the home, including the care people received. Staff felt listened to and involved with the service. People’s end-of-life wishes and plans had been considered. Care plans and risk assessments were in place and reviewed, however they did not always contain the level of detail needed to ensure staff had access to the specific information required to keep people safe. There was a system in place to ensure there were enough suitably recruited staff available to support people. However, we could not be assured these systems were always effective as some people who used the service reported delays in receiving care and support. The provider was previously in breach of the legal regulations in relation to safe care and treatment, consent to care, person centred care, staffing and good governance. Improvements were found at this assessment and the provider was no longer in breach of these regulations.
