Our view of the service
Amberley House is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to 30 people aged 65 and over, some of whom may be living with dementia. At the time of the inspection there were 4 people living at the home. This assessment was carried out to check if the provider had improved the quality of care since the last inspection. This was the first assessment carried out under our single assessment framework and was unannounced. At our last inspection we found three breaches of regulation around ensuring people’s risks were robustly assessed, staff training and overall governance of the home, At this inspection we found the provider had addressed these and was no longer in breach of regulations. We assessed a total of eight quality statements from the safe, effective and well-led key questions. The scores for these areas have been combined with scores based on the key question ratings from the last inspection. The assessment of these eight quality statements indicated good practice since the last inspection, however, our overall rating remains requires improvement. Amberley House needs to demonstrate they are able to embed and maintain good practice and quality of care. This will be checked at future assessments.
