During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this announced on-site assessment on 28 January 2025. We found the practice had met regulations. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance, and infection control procedures were in place. The practice had systems to manage risks. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. Improvements should be made to the systems to review and investigate incidents and accidents. Improvements should be made to ensure record keeping is consistently recorded in line with national guidance. Smiles and More Dentistry is in Widnes and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. There was ramp access to the practice and car parking spaces were available near the practice. The practice had 1 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with 1 dentists, 1 clinical dental technician (who was also the practice owner), 2 dental nurses and the practice manager. At the time of the assessment, the practice had 8 staff members.
