Our view of the service
Date of assessment 26 November 2024 to 29 November 2024. This assessment was in response to CQC receiving information of concern. Since our last assessment, the provider had not taken the necessary action needed to make improvements to the governance systems and safety of people living in the home. We found 3 breaches of the legal regulations. People did not always receive safe care. Risks to people were not always fully considered. Medicines were not always managed safely. We found concerns with the safety of the environment and infection prevention control risks. There was a lack of learning within the home, and safeguarding procedures were not always followed. The principles of The Mental Capacity Act 2005 were not always followed. There was a lack of stimulation in the home and people were not always involved with their care. The systems in place to monitor and improve the home were not effective. However, there were enough staff available, who were safely recruited. People were happy with the staff that supported them and were treated in a kind and caring way. Staff were happy working in the home and felt supported by the management team.
People's experience of this service
People’s experience of living in the home was mixed. Some people felt there could be more staff available, so they had time to spend with them. They felt the home lacked stimulation and felt they could be more involved with their care. However, they were happy with how their medicines were administered, how they consented to care, their environment, and the staff that supported them. People felt safe living in the home.
