Date of Assessment: 11 February 2025 to 3 March 2025. The Medika Clinic is an independent aesthetic and wellbeing clinic and delivers services to people who choose to use the services offered. This was the first inspection of this service since registration in December 2022.
The service is a private fee-charging aesthetic clinic.
Care and treatment provided is doctor-led and provides treatments and advice in aesthetic medicine. The service only provides a service to people over 18 years old.
The service provided a range of treatments, but our inspection focused on treatments which are Regulated Activities. The treatments which our inspection took into consideration were intravenous (IV) vitamin injections and laser skin therapy. Treatment is administered by a qualified doctor and skin care practitioners who have completed aesthetic industry recommended training in aesthetic procedures for skin rejuvenation.
The Medika Clinic had a good learning culture and people could raise concerns. Managers investigated incidents thoroughly. People were protected and kept safe. Staff understood and managed risks. The facilities and equipment met the needs of people, were clean and well-maintained and any risks were mitigated. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. Managers made sure staff received training and regular appraisals to maintain high-quality care. Medicines were well-managed and information from people was used in planning changes.
