Equity in experiences and outcomes
People told us staff came when they requested support, and we observed practices which showed staff were responsive to people’s care needs
Staff told us they knew people well, understood their needs and requirements and promoted these preferences. Staff also told us they would obtain information about new admissions from handover documents. We found some people did not have care plans in place and staff were reliant on handover records to obtain information on them.
The quality of the records failed to demonstrate how the provider ensured equity in peoples experiences. Care plans were not always completed in a timely manner and therefore the provider could not demonstrate that people received personalised support for their specific care needs. This put people at risk of harm.
