Our view of the service
Date of Assessment: 15 October to 17 October 2024. The service is a care at home scheme which provided support in an extra care scheme for older people living with dementia and physical disabilities. Medicines were administered as prescribed. The provider had a process for identifying lessons which could be learned after incidents, safeguarding and complaints which were then shared with staff. Risks associated with a person’s health and wellbeing were identified and management plans developed. There were enough staff, a robust recruitment process and they completed training to support people needs. There was a quality assurance process to monitor the care provided. Care plans were person centred and identified peoples wishes. Staff felt supported and listened to. People were supported to make decisions about their care.
People's experience of this service
People were happy with the care they received, and they felt safe when being supported. People confirmed they knew all the staff who provided their care. They had been involved in the development of their care plan and subsequent reviews. People knew how to raise concerns about their care and where they had done so these had been responded to in a timely manner. People’s cultural and religious preferences were identified and supported.
