Our view of the service
Bridlington Lodge is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to 20 people. At the time of our inspection there was 1 person using the service. We undertook an on-site assessment of this service on 11 July 2024. The on-site assessment reviewed the quality statement relating to ‘safe environment’ only. This is because we had received concerns about the environment and we needed to be assured the person living at the service was safe. The service was visited by 2 inspectors. This provider is required to have a registered manager to oversee the delivery of regulated activities at this location. A registered manager is a person who has registered with the Care Quality Commission to manage the service. Registered managers and providers are legally responsible for how the service is run, for the quality and safety of the care provided, and compliance with regulations. At the time of our on-site assessment there was not a registered manager in post. This is because the previous registered manager had left. A senior carer was the acting manager at the time of our on-site assessment. The service was last inspected in February 2024, where we identified breaches of regulations. The service was rated Requires Improvement. The service remains Requires Improvement overall. This rating combines the scores found during previous inspections as well as the new score given for ‘safe environment’. This is because the service has not made enough improvements since our last inspection visit. We found a repeated breach of regulation relating to premises and equipment. This means the service needs to make improvements in this area.
